Lights, Conversations & Craftsmanship — Our Diwali Market Journey
Share
Proudly Canadian. Crafted with heart, inspired by heritage.
What a beautiful October it has been! As founders of The Marigold Touch, we had the joy of bringing our handcrafted home décor and serveware to three wonderful Diwali events across the GTA. Each market was a celebration of light, culture, and connection — and it truly reminded us why we started this journey in the first place.
✨ Swarnim Diwali – Oakville (October 6, 2025)
Hosted at the St. Volodymyr Cultural Centre, this event lived up to its reputation as Oakville’s biggest Diwali bazaar. With music, dance, kids’ diya painting, and delicious food, it was the perfect start to our festive season. We loved seeing families discover our Pankh Platters and Ujala Snack Bowls — the joy on people’s faces was priceless! Thank you to everyone who stopped by, shared stories, and supported local makers.
Fun fact: The marigolds on our display became conversation starters for so many nostalgic visitors who said, “It smells like home!”
🎆 North York Diwali Fest (October 8–10, 2025)
This three-day celebration at Mel Lastman Square was full of energy, dance, lights, and endless smiles. With hundreds of booths, performances, and food stalls, it felt like a slice of India right here in Toronto. We introduced many guests to our Heritage Roti Box — a brass and mango-wood masterpiece that sparked beautiful conversations about design, nostalgia, and the art of slowing down.
It was also heartwarming to meet families who remembered us from Instagram — proof that our community is growing both online and offline!
🏙️ Oakville City Hall Diwali Celebration (October 26, 2025)
Ending the month in our hometown felt like coming full circle. The Oakville Diwali event at Town Hall was smaller, local, and deeply personal — exactly the atmosphere we cherish. We saw familiar faces from earlier markets and even some repeat customers who came back for more gifts!
Standing beside our table surrounded by marigolds, laughter, and the hum of Bollywood music, we couldn’t help but feel grateful for every conversation, every smile, and every little “wow” when people saw our designs up close.
🪔 What We Shared
- Our story — how we started in Oakville blending Indian heritage with Canadian living.
- Our designs — digitally created in-house, printed with food-safe enamel, and brought to life by artisans in India.
- Our promise — sustainability, craftsmanship, and heart in every piece.
Products like the Prithvi Salad Bowl, Ujala Snack Bowl, and Pankh Platters resonated with people who wanted décor that feels meaningful, not mass-produced.
